Thurs 8/26/10

Hotel is gorgeous! Its clean, open, new, with a modern design. There is celarly a Mexican?Aztec style and architecture all around. After a short wait, we were brought to our room and it could be one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. Here are pix around the room. Stunning, natural stone all over, the entire floor is granite or marble. There is a private jacuzzi that opens to the outside, looks like it could fit 8 poeple!. There were ballons set up for my b-day. Champagne, fresh fuit, flower display and a rose on the bed. The room has a very open air feel. The shower is an all-marble room that could fit four people, its huge.

24-hour room service. There is what they call an X-box. You call up room service, they put it in this little closet, ring the door and leave. Then, you open the closet from the inside, you never see them,

Anyway, more to follow

Thurs 8/26/10

Arrived in cancun in the afternoon. Smooth flight, gotta love JetBlue I watched two movies and BAM! we've landed. Customs and immigration went fine, but we were mobbed by taxi/timeshare/entertainment vendors at the airport. they were very aggresive. One even said we "had to stop in and have something signed". We stopped and it was BS, he immediately tried to sell us something.
The ride was ~1/2 hour no problems. We drove through cancum and past "Hotel Row". About 20 hotels cramped along one stretch in cancun - we're not headed there. Where we're headed, there are only two hotels.
